It’s not just a great cup of coffee that makes a café amazing- or the fresh, local food for that matter. It’s the friendly, welcoming, warm greetings you get from familiar faces within. It’s the delicious pastry waiting for you every morning and the hearty sandwich made fresh for you every day. It’s a place you’ll always wish you were- your daydream spot, your go-to destination and your feel-good place.
Lark is community! We are a bustling café- a hub of activity serving our neighborhood. We are the cafe where people meet up for morning coffee, for lunch and for a beer after work. We are a wonderful destination for parents and caregivers who need a place to go when the park is too hot, too cold or when they simply crave a change of scenery from their own humble abode. Lark has a little something for everyone and is an extension of the vibrant, creative and beautiful community we serve.
Our philosophy is simple: We believe in the power of kindness and of little deeds that make a person’s day. We believe in community and creativity. We believe in indulgence and enjoyment. We believe in relaxing and reviving. We believe in good business and good people.
Sarah and Marjorie Flaccavento are the owners of LARK. LARK was opened to fill growing need for a family friendly coffee house where parents could gather during the day and bring their kids without feeling bad about the extra noise or extra mess that comes along with kids in public places. As new parents, Sarah and Marjorie also realized the desire for a space to host activities like sing-alongs and story times for young kids in the community. They have enjoyed being business owners and love contributing to the exciting entrepreneurial fabric that is spreading across Brooklyn.
